Once you've decided to embark on a digitization project and selected the items you wish to digitize, it is helpful to create a database with clear identifiers for each item.  This document can be an Excel or Google spreadsheet.  Each digital file we create will be matched with the item it corresponds to in your spreadsheet, according to the identifier you choose.
