Luna Imaging’s award-winning Insight® software is the complete solution for building your visual collections. With Insight®, users can view and work with more than 300,000 images available for educational and public use.

Insight® provides advanced tools for the search, organization, and display of visual content and allows you to manage your own material while seamlessly integrating other shared collections.

More than 50 collections, representing fine art, historical maps, posters, rare books, manuscripts, and photographs are available through the Insight® community. Along with accessing this growing collective of arts and cultural heritage resources, Insight® allows for the easy creation and management of your own visual collections.

With patent-pending technology, Luna has solved the complex problem of searching completely different, distributed collections at once. Based on the assertion that it will never be possible to make all collections adopt the same data schemas and practices, Insight® enables users to bridge access across multiple internal and external collections. Cross collection searching and its underlying technology have huge benefits in parallelism, scalability, and flexibility of deployment.

Shared resources in the Insight® network include public collections such as the David Rumsey Historical Map Collection, containing rare cartographic history material; the Hoover Institution Archives Poster Collection from Stanford University; and the Museums and Online Archive of California, containing selected works from the permanent collections of eight California museums.

Subscription collections include AMICA (formerly the AMICO Library), with more than 108,000 high quality works of art from a network of museums worldwide covering a range of cultures and time periods. Scholars Resource by Saskia Ltd. licenses Insight-ready images from more than one hundred museums around the world, including the Louvre and the Prado, representing one of the largest and most important image archives for the teaching of art history at both the basic core content level and in depth analysis for advanced study.
