Editing a Multi-Page Document

An Administrator can edit and display multi-page documents using the following buttons on the multi-page group palette:

Link and Unlink – Enables you to link or unlink any series of side-by-side multi-page documents (within a document) for viewing.  For example, you can link page 5 and 6, page 11 and 12, and page 22 and 23 as a viewable series; however, you cannot link page 6 to page 15.  The pages must be in sequential order and next to each other as originally created in the multi-page document or metadata.  You can also display or hide the links by selecting either the Hide or Show Link from the document group pull-down menu.

Open Annotations and Show Link- Refers to displaying the links and annotations created with the Create/Edit Links tool in the Image Workspace tools palette.

Data – Allows you to view information or file data for various field standards.  You can also activate help to view specific field descriptions.

Save and Save and Close – Select Save to save your series of linked images for later use or Save and Close to save your linked images and to exit the session.

Find – Enables you to search specific data within a document.  For example, type in the word “Italy,” and click the Find button.  The search will find the documents within the multi-page document group that refers to Italy and highlight each document for your use.

Follow the steps below in order to edit a multi-page document:

  1. Log on to Insight 4.0

  2. Select a multi-page document that you want to edit (look for the small book icon in upper right corner of your image).

  3. Click on Group from your main menu, and then select Edit multi-page document.  A group of documents appear as well as a magnified copy of the document or book from which the multi-page documents were created.  You will also see the Remote and Image Workspace Tools.  Note:  Sometimes you will see a color bar within an image.  This is part of the image.  You cannot manipulate the color bar.

  4. Click the Data button if you want to view descriptive data for the active record.  You can display either information or file data.

  5. If you want to link or unlink a series of side-by-side document images, select an image, then click on either the link or unlink button.  Linking and unlinking is invoked in the order that the images are selected.  The images grows smaller (to make room) as the number of links increase in volume.  By default, one image or record is always active or selected.  The linked images are always shown horizontally, side-by-side in the order that they are selected.

You can also show or hide the highlighted links by choosing the Show/Hide pull-down selections.
