Search Images by Numeric Fields

The numeric fields are: equals, does not equal, is greater than and is less than.

Equals - Finds data that exactly matches the value you enter.  This is useful if you have specific data that you would like to find.

When you select equals, Insight asks you to Enter first few letters.  If you know exactly what you are searching for (a particular measurement for example under the data field measurement) then you may type in the information: and then select List.  The information will appear below in a drop down list of values.  You can now highlight the value (or multiple values by using the CTRL key for individual selections or use the SHIFT key to select sequential items in a group) in the drop down listbox, and then click Select.  The selected information will appear in the value box.  Next, click Search to begin your query or Clear Search to re-enter your search criteria.  If the query finds a match, the image(s) will display in the Group Workspace.

Does Not Equal - Enables you to retrieve all records that do not match a particular value.

For example, lets say you would like to find all images and related data that have a value of something other than 10 inches in the width field.  When you select does not equal, Insight will bring up an Enter first few letters: option.  (Note: The type of option that appears depends on the type of data you are searching for.)  You will type in 10 and then select List.  The information will appear below in a drop down list of values.  You can now select the value (or multiple values by using CTRL or SHIFT key) in the drop down listbox that you want to exclude from your results set, and then click Select.  The selected information will appear in the value box.  You can either click Search to begin your query or Clear Search to re-enter your search criteria.  If the query finds a match, the image(s) will display in the Group Workspace.

Is Greater Than -  Finds all the images with a number higher than the number entered in the data.

For example, you would like to search a data field called height, for all images that are greater than 2 inches.  You would select is greater than after you have chosen the numeric data field for which you would like to search.  In this example, you would type 2 in the line labeled value.  You will now have the options to click on Search or Clear Search.  If you click on Search, Insight will bring up all the images where the height is greater than 2 inches.  These images will be in the Group Workspace.

Is Less Than - Finds all the images with a number below the number entered in the data.

For example, you would like to search a data field called width, for all images that are less than 8 inches.  You would select is less than after you have chosen the numeric data field that you would like to search.  In this example, you would type 8 in the line labeled value.  You will now have the option to click on Search or Clear Search.  If you click on Search, Insight will display all the images where the width is less than 8 inches.  These images will be in the Group Workspace.
