This week marks the opening of the David Rumsey Map Center at Stanford University. Our LUNA software has long been the discovery platform for the amazing collection that David has had the vision to assemble. Now with the opening of the Center there is a physical home for the collection, with a focus on its stunning visual content.

As always, you can view the collection online – today’s count is 67,463 images – through the LUNA Viewer. With David Rumsey’s support, we continue to add new features to enhance the delivery of the David Rumsey Map Collection such as the Georeferencer through our integration with Klokan Technologies. Check back often as we are about to release a new look to the LUNA Viewer as well as support for IIIF and a whole new world of image interoperability.
